The Yoga Vidyalayam Chennai is a non-profit organization. Our yoga center propagates the authentic teaching of Swami Sivananda & Swami Satyananda on Asana, Pranayama, Mudra, Bandha and Shatkarma (Cleansing Techniques) to purify the body, mind, and energy systems.
Our mission is to spread the teachings of classical and Practical yoga techniques of Swami Satyananda and make this knowledge accessible to this world.
Yoga Vidyalayam Chennai encourages and facilitates the effective practice of traditional Yoga for physical, emotional, spiritual and well-being for life.
Yoga Postures when practiced with a specified number of repetitions and held for a certain amount of time, it positively impacts the glands, nerves, muscles and all the organs of human body. It boosts flexibility, endurance and good health.
There are innumerable physical and psychological benefits.
For an example, through yoga postures we apply pressure on the endocrine glands.This results in the regulation of hormones secreted from those glands. The hormones are closely related to our emotions and helps attaining emotional balance which facilitates concentration, harmony and mental well-being.
Yoga aims at bringing the different bodily functions into perfect coordination so that they work for the goodness of the whole system.
If asanas performed correctly, they relax the mind, tune up the autonomic nerves, harmonal functions and activities of internal organs.

Our course fee is optional and course Dhakshana is set up in a way to maximize learning & practices and by minimizing profit. Our aim is to make healthy and disease-free future generations.
Our tailor-made yoga program for kids would develop coordination, flexibility, strength, and confidence. Our program enhances their concentration, memory, academic performance, behavior and a sense of well-being and self-awareness.
We also teach “Vinyasa Flow Yoga” for Kids, which is a dynamic form of yoga. Children learn to exercise, play, and connect more deeply through the asanas, pranayama & mudras
This course is open for children age of 7 to 12 years
Yoga Vidyalayam Chennai has tailored the yoga program based on individual’s need and ability. All the practices in this group give greater benefits than advance Practices. It is designed to prepare the body and mind for advance asanas and meditation practices.
Beginners group of asanas help to release tensions from the joints and eliminates energy blocks in the joints of the body. It provides profound benefits for people who suffer from rheumatism, blood pressure, arthritis, heart problem and other ailments where robust and dynamic exercise is not advised.
A regulated course for people of all ages and fitness levels. Yoga for Senior Citizens course from Yoga Vidyalayam Chennai removes any fears or challenges in doing yoga. Classes are designed for those who want to take gentle class to improve general mobility, health and well-being. The class includes easy basic postures with some variations, breathing exercises and relaxation.
We have chair yoga classes that are designed to meet the needs of those who cannot stand for a long time, cannot get up from the floor / sit down on the floor, or have mobility issues.
